Fence & Retaining Wall Replacement
An aging timber retaining wall and dilapidated privacy fence were replaced in this challenging urban space.
Project Details
Challenging access, smaller, compact machinery required. The retaining wall that required replacement was supporting the entire South side edge of the back yard. Including a Interlocking Concrete Paver patio, garden areas and a utility shed placed on a concrete pad. All these items needed to be removed either entirety, or in part to properly replace the old wall and fence. Executing this project also required permission from the neighbour to enter their property in order to better access the work area to bring materials in and out. We also had to ensure the neighbor that any lawn / property damage that may be created by the restoration project would be repaired to their satisfaction.
The job went very smoothly, and we did not run into any hidden surprises or road blocks. The client was very impressed as to how everything came together in the end, and commented how pleasant it was to see our team work together, laugh and joke, and get along so well, while still remaining focused on the task at hand to continue to move the project along on schedule.
Through the entire project the neighbor was very accommodating and the only repairs that were required was some damaged lawn areas beside the wall. Some of which were turned into garden spaces along the new wall.
In the end, this was a very satisfying project for us!
