Meet Andre Ypma

MELD owner Andre G. Ypma, a native of Prince Edward County, has over 35 years of experience in the landscape trades, starting at age 14 in lawn and garden maintenance before expanding into landscape construction and restoration with various contractors and a plant nursery in Quinte West.

In 1994, Andre moved to Toronto to study Landscape Technology at Humber College, working simultaneously for a landscape maintenance and restoration company in Scarborough, where he designed and built gardens and public spaces, including several luxury condominium projects in the GTA.

After graduating, he continued working in the GTA until returning to Prince Edward County in 2002 to establish his own business focused on creating and maintaining beautiful landscapes.

Philosophy

Andre believes landscapes should be purposeful, sustainable, functional, and aesthetically pleasing, harmonizing with their geographical and ecological surroundings. He views his role as a steward not only to his clients but also to the outdoor spaces he is fortunate to transform and care for.

He holds a Certified Concrete Paver Installer (CCPI) designation from the Concrete, Masonry and Hardscape Association and is a member of the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association and Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association, which provide ongoing training and inspiration for him and his team.
