Backyard Transformation
Urban oasis in a very small, sloped back yard with limited access for machinery.
Project Details
The challenge in this small, largely sloped back yard space was to create two separated patio / seating areas as well as an area to place a old bench swing which was a cherished family heirloom. Also, we had to create landing areas off both sides of the back steps that let in and out of a 4 season sun room.
Garden areas were also requested by the client to enhance the calming feeling of this small space. We were asked to be sure to leave enough space in the design of the back yard space for the client to continue to enjoy growing vegetables in their own raised garden boxes.
Complicating the project was limited access to the yard for our machinery; we solved this by renting smaller versions of the equipment we usually use.
The end result was truly rewarding for us, and the clients were very pleased with the end results!
